New information has come to light regarding the tragic deaths of renowned director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their residence property on Sunday.

The Discovery

As detailed in an account quoting a confidential source, a therapist arriving for an session initially became concerned after not being able to enter the home. The therapist then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives nearby.

When she went into the house, Romy discovered her father's body. It is said she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Afterward, emergency responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Developments

Authorities have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, along with the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently detained without bail.

Disputed Reports

The anonymous source also disputed several initial details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick resided in a separate structure on the property, she did not identify him as a suspect at that moment.

Additionally disputed published notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "worried" about Nick's actions in recent weeks. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction also extends to descriptions of alleged "unstable" conduct by Nick at a gathering hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the bodies were found. While the source stated they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they asserted that suggestions of a "major confrontation" between the two were untrue.

Investigation Timeline

As stated by law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts indicated the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been dead for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the family home. He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would not be present until Wednesday or later.
